Eileen Gray
Eileen Gray, born into an aristocratic Irish-Scottish family, studied architecture and design in London and Paris. She rose to fame with her lacquered wall and panel designs and revolutionized modern living with her ideas on design and architecture. A pioneer of Modernism, Gray is the only woman mentioned alongside icons like Le Corbusier and Marcel Breuer. Her tubular steel furniture designs, now classics, and the legendary Adjustable Table E 1027, featured in the Museum of Modern Art, cemented her legacy. In the 1970s, she partnered with Zeev Aram to produce her designs, granting Aram Designs Ltd. worldwide rights in 1973. Her achievements were celebrated with a 2013 Centre Pompidou exhibition, and her restored house, E 1027, reopened in 2015. Films like Price of Desire and Gray Matters further honored her legacy.
